Qualification description

This qualification reflects the roles of air crew personnel performing normal and emergency airborne duties in support of aviation operations.

Air crew duties include applying technical and non-technical aviation skills and knowledge within rotary or fixed wing operational environments.

Individuals working at this level will apply knowledge and skills to demonstrate autonomy, judgement and limited responsibility in known or changing contexts within established parameters.

This qualification provides fundamental knowledge and skills required of air crew performing task specialist or other aerial work operations as defined in Civil Aviation Safety Regulations (CASR).

Civil and military flight crew seeking authorisation for aerial work operations should check these requirements with Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA).

  • Aerial Surveillance
  • Air Crew Member
  • Air Crew Officer (ACO)
  • Electronic Mission Coordinator
  • Mission Coordinator
