This skill set provides a set of skills for work in Defence Public Affairs where officers work autonomously within a team environment that requires them to write material for publication, make judgements about the suitability of material for publication within known contexts and a defined scope and take responsibility for their decisions.
Defence Public Affairs officers may be required to write and edit a range of public information products, such as print and digital articles, social media content and media releases.
Skill set requirements
A total of six (6) units of competency must be attained.
DEFDPA001 Promote the organisation’s mission and values
DEFDPA002 Identify material suitable for media publication
DEFDPA009 Apply knowledge of public affairs in a service environment
