This unit of competency describes the skills and knowledge required to develop a proposal for a negotiated outcome with local Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islanders for a given area of Country. On Country refers to the land, waterways and the sea.

This unit applies to individuals who work in research and in consultation with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Communities and Cultural Authorities.

The unit applies to working either autonomously or under the supervision and Cultural Authority of Traditional Owners or Elders for specific Country.
