Monitor welfare of stock during out-of-hours receival
Application
This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to perform the duties of an assistant to an Animal Welfare Officer where those duties involve the receival and unloading animals from transport out of normal production hours.
This unit applies to those responsible for the receival of livestock out- of-hours including overseeing the unloading stock from transport at abattoirs. These individuals work under the supervision of an Animal Welfare Officer, and exercise limited autonomy and have some accountability for their own work.
All work must be carried out to comply with workplace safety and hygiene requirements and Australian meat processing standards and regulations.
