Manage RPAS assets

Application

This unit involves the skills and knowledge required to manage remotely piloted aircraft system (RPAS) assets to ensure the integrity and reliability of equipment. A chief maintenance officer must be nominated on the Remote Operator Certificate (ReOC).

It includes analysing asset requirements, placing assets into service, managing assets as they apply to jobs and maintenance systems, and asset disposal.

RPAS assets are used to ensure the task requested is completed in a safe, efficient and effective manner. They may encompass the entire RPAS, with components included such as aircraft, remote pilot station, batteries, payload, emergency equipment, operational (take-off and landing) area cordoning equipment, personal protective equipment (PPE), supporting IT, and storage and maintenance equipment.
