This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to recognise and support the specific needs of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander children and young people in the youth justice system.

This unit applies to work in both a community and custodial youth justice service environment.

The skills in this unit must be applied in accordance with Commonwealth and State or Territory legislation, Australian standards and industry codes of practice.
