Apply building control legislation to accessibility assessment of small-scale buildings

Application

This unit of competency specifies the skills and knowledge required to apply building control legislation to assess the accessibility of small-scale buildings. Small-scale buildings are buildings of any Class as defined in the National Construction Code (NCC), but which do not exceed 2,000 square metres in floor area. The unit includes understanding the Australian common law system and the various sources of law applicable to the accessibility of small-scale building developments and identifying and applying the relevant professional code of practice required for the assessment and inspection of buildings.

This unit is for individuals who work independently using specialised knowledge to conduct a range of access consulting services.
