Apply building codes and standards to accessible large-scale buildings
Application
This unit of competency specifies the skills and knowledge required to ensure the building process for large-scale buildings results in accessible developments to meet the requirements of relevant legislation, codes and standards. Large-scale buildings are buildings of any class as defined in the National Construction Code (NCC) and which exceed 2,000 square metres in floor area. The unit includes interpreting and evaluating building requirements, classifying buildings according to NCC criteria and developing strategies for disability access compliance.
This unit is for individuals who are self-directed and have substantial depth of knowledge and skills to make independent judgements in the provision of access consulting services.
