This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to diagnose faults and repair broadcasting facilities and equipment in a variety of different environments. This includes documenting and testing repair procedures and ensuring maintenance and support is provided according to organisational standards.

The unit applies to those who work with minimum supervision to repair faults, undertake routine maintenance and provide general technical support, working on single pieces of equipment and whole studios and systems.
