This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to refine and consolidate technical skills and knowledge in the art of partnering to perform pas de deux repertoire across classical and contemporary styles of ballet.
The unit applies to those who are moving towards professional careers in contexts where complex ballet technique and versatility are required for performing as members of a professional dance company. They may be part of an ensemble or a soloist dancer who has the ability to work with different partners to perform pas de deux. While some supervision and guidance are provided, dancers are expected to display a high level of motivation and responsibility for themselves and their partner during practice sessions, rehearsals and live performances.
No licensing, legislative or certification requirements apply to this unit at the time of publication.
