Application

This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to integrate legislative requirements into the operation of fireworks display to ensure the safety and health of workers and the general public. It involves determining different regulatory requirements, establishing risk control procedures, managing emergency situations and training other personnel.

The unit applies to those who work autonomously in a team environment as they take responsibility for identifying hazards and mandatory requirements, managing risk and emergency procedures, and communicating safety and health requirements to all those involved in fireworks displays. They may also be responsible for supervising others.

Licensing and legislative requirements apply to this unit but vary according to state/territory jurisdictions.

Completion of this unit does not automatically qualify a person to obtain a licence to operate in any Australian state or territory.
