This unit of competency describes the skills and knowledge required to repair various types of damage that occurs to netting material used for fish or prawn trawls, purse seines, beach seines or gill nets. It includes the ability to prepare damaged netting material and use net repair tools.
This unit applies to individuals who undertake defined routine net mending activities under the direction of a supervisor.
All work must be carried out to comply with workplace procedures, according to state/territory health and safety, biosecurity and environmental regulations, legislation and standards that apply to the workplace.
