This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge to provide skin peel treatments using manufacturer prepared solutions to improve skin texture, acne and reduce the appearance of pigmentation. It requires the ability to design and provide a staged program of multiple treatments and home care.

This unit applies to skin therapists who work in beauty salons or skin clinics where skin therapy is provided.

The skills and knowledge required to assess a client and design and plan treatment programs are covered in SHBBSKT001 Provide skin therapy consultations.

The skills in this unit must be applied in accordance with Commonwealth and State or Territory legislation, Australian standards and industry codes of practice.
