This unit involves the skills and knowledge required to prepare a mobile crane for a lift.

It includes the systematic positioning and stabilisation of the crane and its assembly prior to lift in a variety of operational contexts.

Work is performed with limited or minimum supervision.

People achieving competence in this unit must hold the relevant high risk work (HRW) licence prior to undertaking mobile crane operation, dogging or rigging work.

Work must be carried out in compliance with the relevant state/territory authority mobile crane operations licence/permit requirements and regulations, codes of practice, rules and/or guidelines.
