Plan and conduct specialised lift
Application
This unit involves the skills and knowledge required to plan and conduct specialised lift by a mobile crane (excluding demolition work).
It involves a lift that may be specialised in terms of job and equipment requirements, load qualities, or critical aspects of lift location/s.
It includes inspecting site, planning lift, setting up lift, working effectively in a team, lifting and moving load, and following up on a job.
Work is performed under general supervision. It involves the application of some judgement and routine principles and procedures for planning and conducting of specialised lifts, in consultation with competent persons, in a variety of operational contexts.
People achieving competence in this unit must hold the relevant high risk work licence prior to undertaking mobile crane operation, dogging or rigging work.
Work must be carried out in compliance with the relevant state/territory authority mobile crane operations licence/permit requirements and regulations, codes of practice, rules and/or guidelines.
