This unit involves the skills and knowledge required to rig load.

It includes preparing for load transfer, assessing lifting requirements, securing and detaching loads in preparation for lifting by a crane in accordance with relevant state and/or territory authority high-risk work licence requirements and regulations in a variety of operational contexts.

Work is performed with general supervision, and with duty of care responsibility for self and others in achieving the prescribed outcomes.

A person who rigs a load must hold a high-risk work licence.
