This unit involves the skills and knowledge required to sample, inspect and test products to specifications.

It includes establishing specifications and testing procedures, selecting evidence, conducting and interpreting tests, and reporting findings as part of operations in accordance with relevant regulations, codes of practice, Australian Standards and workplace quality standards within the transport and logistics industry.

Work is performed under limited supervision, generally within a team environment. Discretion and judgement are exercised in planning and using resources, services and processes to achieve required outcomes within workplace policy and procedures.
