This unit involves the skills and knowledge required to conduct car driver training.

It includes preparing for car driver training, demonstrating and instructing required skills, techniques and monitoring and maintaining low risk car driving skills of car drivers. It also includes interpreting and applying road rules, debriefing car drivers, identifying hazardous situations and implementing contingency plans.

This unit applies to car driving trainers.

Work is performed without supervision. Car driver training involves the application of learning principles for different cohorts, instructional methods, training competence and experience, higher order car driving expertise, navigation skills, road law expertise, routine procedures and regulatory requirements across a range of operational situations and a variety of driving contexts.
