This unit involves the skills and knowledge required to prepare and carry out surveillance on gas distribution assets, and complete work and relevant documentation in accordance with relevant legislation, industry standards, codes of practice and workplace procedures.

It includes identifying system non-conformances by monitoring the area/third-party area for security conditions and inspecting the system’s pipework, structures, fittings and equipment in accordance with organisational and statutory requirements.

Operation of aerial craft is not covered by this unit.
