UEPOPS005
Clean plant and equipment
Application
This unit involves the skills and knowledge required to clean industrial plant, machinery and surrounds associated with electricity generation stations and related surroundings. It may also include the removal of excess, or oil-based, soil.
The removal of impurities is required to facilitate repairs, maintenance, refurbishment or the inspection of plant and machinery. Cleaning, therefore, is often the first task performed in the maintenance, repair and overhaul of power generation plant.
Competency in this unit requires the ability to plan and prepare for the cleaning of industrial plant and equipment, conduct cleaning and complete work. Individuals will, in general, work as an operator, in a power generation facility.
Power generation plant operators are typically trained and authorised to isolate, prepare plant and issue permits to work.
No licensing, legislative or certification requirements apply to this unit at the time of publication.
