Application

This unit involves the skills and knowledge required to operate, monitor and inspect oil systems.

Power generation facilities rely on oil systems to run power generation applications. Maintaining clean oil systems is essential to equipment and plant reliability.

Competency in this unit requires the ability to plan work, operate oil systems plant, test oil systems plant, analyse oil systems plant faults, monitor and inspect oil systems plant, and complete all documentation. Individuals will, in general, work under supervision, in a power generation facility as an operator.

Power generation plant operators are trained and authorised to isolate, prepare plant and issue permits to work.
