This unit involves the skills and knowledge required to operate and monitor a grid operations control room in the electricity supply industry generation sector. This unit applies to proprietary grid infrastructure which may or may not be connected to the National grid.

Routine work can include undertaking activities such as the operation of generation plant systems, operating and monitoring maintenance on equipment.

Competency in this unit requires the ability to carry out routine work activities in an electricity supply generation environment. Individuals will work, under supervision, as an operator in an electricity supply generation facility.
